Milk Thistle products that are not standardized may lack or have very little levels of Silymarin Flavonoids. Silymarin is the important compound that has been shown to provide the benefits associated with Milk Thistle. Milk Thistle has been shown to provide antioxidant effects on the liver. This herb is believed to support healthy glutathione levels. Glutathione plays a role in the body's defense system and aids in the liver's ability to detoxify. A healthy liver aids the body in digestion, detoxification, fat metabolism and blood sugar regulation.*
